Hydrant Flushing

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE: April 3-28, 2023

The Grand Ledge Department of Public Services (DPS) is TENTATIVELY scheduled to begin water main (hydrant) flushing between Monday, April 3, 2023 through approximately Friday, April 28, 2023. Please note that this is a tentative schedule, weather permitting. Water main flushing is necessary to test hydrants for proper pressure and flow. This also allows the City to remove any sediment from the water lines which helps improve quality and clarity. As a result, water main flushing can cause temporary changes in water pressure or discoloration.

Residents are encouraged to postpone doing laundry between 7:30 am – 3:30 pm during this period. If you experience any discoloration, please wait approximately 30 minutes for DPS to move out of your area, then run cold water in a sink or bathtub until clear. If you have any questions, please call DPS at 517-627-2144. Thank you for your patience as we complete this necessary process to ensure water quality and clarity in the City of Grand Ledge.
