Abrams Municipal Airport Advisory Commission
The Abrams Municipal Airport Advisory Commission is an 11-member board with nine members appointed by the Mayor and affirmed by the City Council for three-year terms expiring the second Monday in January. One of these nine members must be a representative of the Michigan National Guard, as long as the Michigan National Guard is a major user of the Abrams Municipal Airport. The remaining two members are appointed by the Eagle Township Board of Trustees as long as the “City of Grand Ledge/Eagle Township contract for conditional transfer of property 1984 PA 425,” dated February 14, 2000, remains in effect.

Board of Cemetery Trustees
The Board of Cemetery Trustees oversees the operations and management of, and improvements to, Oakwood Cemetery and Cremains Garden.

Board of Review
The Board of Review meets to review the assessment roll and also to hold hearings for taxpayers protesting assessments. The Board may adjust assessments, grant homestead and qualified agricultural property exemptions, and grant hardship exemptions.

Construction Board of Appeals
The Construction Board of Appeals meets to hear appeals from decisions of the Building Official concerning his enforcement of the State Construction Code Act, the International Building Code, and other applicable laws and regulations.

Downtown Development Authority
The Downtown Development Authority promotes economic growth and revitalization within the City’s business districts along Bridge Street, Clinton Street, and Saginaw Highway.

Election Commission
The Election Commission appoints the Board of Election Inspectors for each precinct, sets precinct boundaries and polling locations, and tests the voting machines used in all elections in the City.

Grand Ledge Area Emergency Services Authority
The Grand Ledge Area Emergency Services Authority is committed to protecting life and property in the City of Grand Ledge and Oneida Township.

Local Development Finance Authority
The Local Downtown Finance Authority promotes and develops the Grand Ledge Willis Industrial Park on M-100 on the north side of the City.

Parks & Recreation Commission
The Parks and Recreation Commission oversees the operations and management of, and improvements to, the City’s parks and other recreation facilities.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission reviews site plans and special use permit applications, develops the Master Plan, and maintains and recommends updates to the Zoning Ordinance.

Water & Sewer Disputes Committee
The Water and Sewer Disputes Committee reviews disputes filed by water and sewer customers concerning rates, charges, and billings for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer.

Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals hears appeals from decisions of the Zoning Administrator concerning interpretation and implementation of the Zoning Ordinance, and application for variances from the requirements of the Zoning Ordinance.
