On Monday, September 27, 2021, replacement of the 20' deep sanitary sewer off W. Main St. between 1099 and 1065 W. Main St. (noted above) is tentatively scheduled to begin.
During this replacement, a bypass pump will be running to redirect waste safely from W. Main St. to the wastewater treatment plant. The pump may produce additional noise and run for up to (5) days until the new sanitary sewer line is installed. Residents in the area can also expect construction traffic and several pieces of equipment on-site. The work is anticipated to be complete by Monday, October 4, 2021.
W. Main Street will be closed to through traffic for a short period of time while crews work to tie the new sewer line into existing infrastructure. The exact date will be determined as work progresses. Please use one of the following methods to stay updated on projects and closures:
- Text “GLAlerts” to 67283 to sign up for text alerts regarding City of Grand Ledge street closures, events, urgent public notices, etc.
- Follow the construction updates page at www.cityofgrandledge.com/192/Construction-Project-Updates
- Follow the City’s Facebook Page @CityofGrandLedgeGovernment
Why is the schedule ‘tentative’? Weather conditions, especially rain, can impact the start and/or completion of a street resurfacing project. The City advises all pedestrians and vehicles to use caution while navigating around construction. If you have questions about the project or have special needs we should be aware of, please contact the Public Services Department at 517-627-2144. Thank you for your patience during this important improvement project!
