Please be advised that although the City of Grand Ledge, in collaboration with the Health Department, continues to pursue action to hold commercial trash hauler(s) accountable, as the property owner and/or occupant of a residence, you are ultimately responsible for your trash receptacle and trash accumulation. While you may have a commercial trash hauler contracted, you must store trash and arrange for trash removal in accordance with applicable laws.
Please be advised that the City of Grand Ledge is authorized under City ordinances and State of Michigan law to issue citations to the people responsible for littering and generating the trash/garbage. Citations can be issued for littering, storage of trash, rubbish and garbage. DO NOT place any additional trash/garbage at the curb that exceeds the capacity of your trash receptacle, or you will be subject to a citation.
