Green Street

Beginning in late August, Green Street (just south of the new Holbrook entrance to W. South) will be reconstructed. The block of Green Street from W. South to W. Kent will be milled and resurfaced. Three blocks of sidewalk from Jones to W. South will also be renovated into a 7' wide walk. The project is anticipated to be complete by early November.

The project has a construction cost of $1,256.091.50 which was bid by Michigan's Department of Transportation (MDOT) and awarded to CL Trucking & Excavating, LLC. Of this amount the City was successful in receiving a $530,000 grant from MDOT’s Transportation Improvement Program or “TIP”. The remainder is found within the current FY24 budget.

School starts August 30th, 2023. Bus routes use the South Street/Green Street and Seminary Street/Green Street intersections. Crews will maintain a lane of traffic at both intersections for the buses to complete their routes.
